2nd April 2006
Kite surfing: Hayling Island
Wind Direction: WSW
Wind Stength: 18 - 25mph
Surf / Sea State: Slight chop

Max Speed: 22 (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 6 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

Wow! Got down to the beach and there didn't look like enough wind, but on the beach it was 14 - 18mph, and getting stronger as I went out. As I launched the kite didn't seem to go up well but i depowered a bit so it moved more to the edge of the window and inflated fully

On the water I had plenty of power, had the depower strap pulled about 2/3 in, quite depowered so I had to work the kite quite a bit. Had plenty of power though as I found out a few minutes in when I did a couple of accidental jumps :)

It was great fun going back and forwards, and when I got to the end of a run I looked back and saw a nice curve so I was going upwind. The wind picked up and got stronger later on, struggling to stay in the water in the chop, need more practise at that.

Came in and couldn't find my bags - figured it out eventually I was doing my old trick of walking upwind to find my bag, but for the first time ever the bag was downwind of where I finished. Woohoo, I can go upwind!
